Activity - Unmounted activities

Ground crew

1. Ground crew are those individuals who assist in running equestrian activities from the ground (e.g. re-setting targets, handing weapons to riders, etc.).
2. You must be at least 5 years of age to participate as ground crew, regardless of whether your kingdom requires specific ground crew authorization or not.
3. You should receive instructions from the equestrian marshal (e.g. what to do, where it is safe to stand, how to move around horses, etc.).

Packing with horses

Packing was a common means of transporting goods in the SCA's time period.

1. Packing may be accomplished using specialized equipment to secure the load, frequently a pack saddle.
2. Common means of directing the horse include leading from the ground or ponying one or more pack animals while mounted.
