Kingdom Caid additions for Marshaling on the field
KingdomMarshaling missile combat and siege warfare
#KingdomAny event which includes combat archery should have a designated combat archery marshal-in-charge (CAMiC).
#KingdomThe combat archery marshal-in-charge will coordinate with the overall event marshal-in-charge and autocrats to establish a safe area for spectators and non-combatants.
#KingdomThe combat archery marshal-in-charge shall ensure that all spectators are made aware of the danger of missile weapons prior to the start of combat. The combat archery marshal-in-charge shall attempt to minimize the risk to all spectators, participants, and bystanders as much as possible given the constraints of the site; and remove spectators and unarmored participants from the potential line of fire of missiles that are in use.
#KingdomThe combat archery marshal-in-charge should assure proper eye protection is available and in use as required during combat archery activity per Protective gear for marshals.
#KingdomAny alternatives to this standard (such as marshal's helms) will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the marshal-in-charge and/or combat archery marshal-in-charge.
#Kingdom During battles using combat archery and/or siege, combatants may not remove their helms until they have left an active battlefield and cleared the buffer zone.
#KingdomDuring combat there will be a minimum of 1 armored combat senior marshal (ACSM) authorized in combat archery (ACCA) for each side that is using projectiles during the battle.
#KingdomDuring combat there will be a minimum of 1 armored combat senior marshal (ACSM) authorized in siege (ACSG) for each end of the field that has a siege engine.
#KingdomMarshaling siege combat shall conform to the the Society Siege Engine Handbook.
#KingdomWhere combat including missiles is to take place, a readily identifiable boundary (edge of the field) for the combat shall be established, per the Designated areas section of this handbook.
#KingdomInspection of bows, arrows/bolts, engines and ammunition must take place before the equipment may be used.
##KingdomThe inspections will be done at a central location designated for the purpose and performed by qualified marshals assigned for the purpose.
##KingdomEquipment which fails inspection may not be used until corrected and reinspected.
##KingdomSee Inspecting Equipment for details about combat archery equipment inspection, and the SCA Siege Engines Handbook for details about siege equipment inspection.
